Delaware State Police Investigate Overnight Shots Fired at Occupied Smyrna Home

SMYRNA, Del. — Delaware State Police are investigating after gunfire struck an occupied home in Smyrna late Saturday night, though no injuries were reported.

Troopers responded at about 10 p.m. Saturday to the unit block of Harvest Court following reports of shots fired. Investigators found multiple spent shell casings and determined the residence had been hit by gunfire. The home was occupied at the time of the shooting, but no one inside was injured. 

Detectives with the Delaware State Police Troop 3 Criminal Investigations Unit are leading the investigation. Authorities have not released information about a possible suspect or motive, and no arrests have been announced. 

Police are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or has information that could assist the investigation to contact Detective D. Patterson at 302-698-8451.
