UPDATE: Cooling Centers Open Amidst Second Heat Wave
DELMARVA – Counties are once again designating sites as cooling centers ahead of sweltering temperatures expected to blanket the Delmarva Peninsula this weekend.
With heat indices forecasted above 100 degrees, Delmarvans are advised to stay indoors as much as possible. The following locations are offering free air-conditioning to help residents keep cool.
Kent County
The Delaware Department of Health and Social Services (DHSS) has opened cooling centers across the state to provide residents with a safe place to escape the heat.

Sussex County

Queen Anne’s County Cooling Centers are available for any community members in need of a cool retreat on Wednesday, Jul. 15. Any residents seeking to beat the heat at the Queen Anne’s County Family YMCA must provide ID upon entrance and sign a waiver.
