Caroline Co. Humane Society Trying to Keep Trap & Neuter Program Active

(RIDGELY, Md) – The Caroline County Humane Society is asking for help to keep one of their programs going.

Known as the “Trap & Neuter” Program, which is geared towards controlling the stray cat population is in need of help from the community in order to prevent overpopulation.

The humane society is asking for help through grants as well as community donation.

Director, Stephanie Flower says the program has done a substantial job in lowering the stray cat population over the last couple of years.

Stephanie tells WMDT, “In just the couple of years that we’ve had this program, our cat intake has actually gone down from, I believe it was about 1300 cats in one year to closer to 800. So it’s making a big difference.”

The Humane Society says donations of unused, unopened pet food are appreciated, as well as financial donations. If you’re interested in donating, you can visit the humane society’s website.
