Attraction at Trimper Rides Goes Viral For Brown Water

OCEAN CITY, Md. – A video taken displaying a water attraction at Trimper Rides on the Ocean City Boardwalk has garnered over 4 million views on TikTok.

The video shows a young child, Astro, riding through the murky water while celebrating his 4th birthday.

Although social media had varying opinions on the quality of the water, long time visitors and locals stress that the iconic park did nothing wrong. Brad Wells, is one of those locals.

“It’s water.” Said Wells.  “And people were in a carnival ride. So, you know, I didn’t really see anything wrong with it. I would still ride the little ride if I could fit in there.”

Following the release of the video, Trimper Rides responded with a statement.

“Trimper Rides recently experienced a temporary issue with the water in our indoor boat ride after a malfunction in the ride’s filtration system caused the water to become discolored. While the appearance of the water was not what our guests expect or what we expect of ourselves, the issue did not compromise guest safety.”

Trimper Rides also included in the statement that they have resolved the issue, and through the process replaced approximately 13,000 gallons of water.

The park also made sure to emphasize that the safe, enjoyable, experiences they provide are the reason they have been operating for more than 130 years.
