July Highlights the importance of Parks & Recreation across Delmarva
SALISBURY, Md.– July marks Parks and Recreation Month, a nationwide celebration recognizing the important role parks and recreation programs play in building healthier, more connected communities.
Whether it’s taking a walk, enjoying a picnic or spending time with family and friends, local parks provide residents with opportunities to get outdoors, stay active and connect with nature.
Recreation Program Specialist Randy Mcfadden said planning ahead can help visitors make the most of their time at local parks.
“One thing they can do is check our website to see what amenities each park has,” McFadden said. “That way, you can prepare by bringing your basketball, soccer ball or pickleball paddles if those amenities are available. Most importantly, surround yourself with good people, enjoy the good vibes and have fun.”
As summer continues, recreation officials encourage residents to visit their local parks and take advantage of the outdoor spaces and activities available throughout the season.
