SALISBURY, Md.- The Youth World Series is bringing back their Ocean City tournament.

The event takes place on Wednesday Jun.20 through Sunday Jun.28 at the Henry S. Parker Athletic Complex in Salisbury. The location serves as not only a centralised point for many teams, but also offers a variety of family activities and lodging opportunities.

Tyler Fitch, the sales & operations coordinator for the tournament organiser, Athletx, spoke highly of the location choice.

“The complex is great, the city is great to work with.” Fitch said. “We’ve had nothing but positive experiences. Obviously, the Ocean City coastline and everything there is beautiful, and it attracts people and families to come.”

Teams from all over the East Coast are heading to the area to participate in 5 days of competitive baseball. Play is divided into six different age groups, from 9U/10U all the way to 15U/16U. The event is kicked off with a skills competition, before heading into group play. Next, bracket games begin until there is a match set for championship Sunday. Visitors can expect witnessing a wide range of skill sets over the weekend slate.

“They can look forward to, teams coming in that are not major teams that are travelling the country, you know, week in and week out.” Fitch said. “This tournament is specifically designed for teams that are more of a local base, more of a community based team, that you know get together and want to play competitively.”
