Wicomico County Summerfest Returns

SALISBURY, Md. – Wicomico County Recreation, Parks, and Tourism is bringing back their Summerfest event.

This seasonal series begins Jun. 25 at Lake Street Playground from 5-8pm. Each event is themed, with tomorrow kicking of with field day.

Randy McFadden, a recreation program specialist in Wicomico County, says the event is perfectly aligned with summer break.

“We know that when summer out, schools out, the kids have a lot of free time on their hands.” McFadden Said. “So we like to give some spaces for families to be able to come together and just spend some time together with themselves, with the community, just to have something free to do.”

The event will include a DJ, bounce house, and refreshments consisting of hot dogs, juice, and water. A lineup that will be fun for the whole family.

“We have different field day events like three-legged race, potato sack race, different things for the kids to try out and the older people to try to.” McFadden Said. “We don’t want the kids to have all the fun. When we’re out there, I want to see some of the senior people having some fun with the races as well.”
