OCEAN CITY, Md. — OC Pride is hosting its annual Pride Day on Saturday, June 27.

The day of celebrations will kick off with a parade on the boardwalk, beginning at the inlet parking lot at 10:30 a.m. The group will make its way up the boardwalk to 2nd Street then back down to the fishing pier. Participants get free t-shirts this year and can grab more free merchandise and resources from local vendors and sponsors with tables at the event.

Organizer Mickie Meinhardt says it’s an opportunity to give the community a safe space to celebrate love. “This is really just a chance for people who are in the queer, LGBTQIA+ community or who are allied with it to show that we are supported and we are supportive. It’s just really all about love,” Meinhardt said.

After the parade, participants can visit one of OC Pride’s sponsors for discounted food and drinks, such as Sunrise Diner, Casita Linda, Real Raw Organics, or The Coconut Club.

The pride celebrations continue into the evening with a Pride Party at The Buzzed Word from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. featuring music, beverages, and food and merchandise for purchase.

Rain is in the forecast for Saturday and could potentially impact the parade — stay updated on OC Pride’s social media pages.
