QUANTICO, Md. – Wicomico County officials have announced that portions of Pirate’s Wharf Park will close to the public starting this week for construction.

Crews are expected to begin work on the boat ramp, soft launch, fishing pier and viewing areas. The project is expected to be complete in Spring 2027.

WMDT previously reported on the improvements coming to Pirate’s Wharf Park in Sept. 2025, during which time county leaders said they hoped open water access would introduce the opportunity to offer more educational programs for the community to get involved.

As work goes on, visitors are advised to use caution and obey closures and wayfinding signage.
