Delmarva. – A volunteer group is raising awareness of mental health struggles and suicide rates among veterans.

Riding 22 in twenty 22 VSA is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting veterans facing mental health struggles. The group’s founders and some members are embarking on a motorcycle road trip, crossing twenty two states in twenty two days.

Their goal is to bring attention to the 22 veterans that die by suicide every day on average.

“a lot of veterans have that brotherhood together while they’re in the service and then they come home and they don’t have that and they don’t have a support system.” says Angela White, co-founder of Riding 22 in 22 VSA.

The organization is also working with STRIVE, a health program that uses funds to increase veterans’ access to treatment for those affected by PTSD or other mental health issues.
Funds from both of these organizations are used to cover the costs of expenses such as transportation or lodging.
