MDOT provides fatal crash updates during summer travel season
MARYLAND – The Maryland Department of Transportation is providing ongoing fatal crash updates during the summer travel season.
For the period of June 1 to June 15, there were 13 fatalities across the state.
As of June 15, 163 people have lost their lives on Maryland roadways this year, compared to 200 at this time last year.
The Maryland Department of Transportation is publishing these fatality totals to raise awareness of roadway fatalities and encourage safe driving habits during the peak summer travel season, also known as the “100 deadliest days.”
The summer months historically bring increased traffic volumes and crashes, as people travel for vacations, holidays and recreational activities.
