Local employees fight back against Ocean Downs due to low wages

BERLIN, Md. – A strike at Ocean Downs Casino is possible because of a labor dispute, and it’s happening during one of their busiest times.

Negotiations between workers and management remain deadlocked, because of low wages.

The lowest paid non-tipped members are making minimum wage, which is $15 dollars in the state. and according to President of the union representing employees of Ocean Downs Unite Here Local 7, Tracy Lingo, the company’s last offer was $15 dollars, 90 cents.
