Incarcerated students earn high school diplomas
DOVER, Del. – 27 incarcerated students earned their high school diplomas Thursday evening.
The commencement ceremonies were held in the prison chapels of Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution in New Castle and Sussex Correctional Institution in Georgetown.
The events were hosted by the Delaware Department of Correction and Department of Education.
Graduates were joined by 100 family members and community supporters, teachers and correctional staff to celebrate their hard work and achievement.
This week’s high school grads are among the 42 incarcerated students who earned Groves Adult High School diplomas across Delaware’s four state prison this past academic year.
