Gum Point Boat Ramp to Close Temporarily for Barge Unloading
OCEAN PINES, Md. – Worcester County Public Works and Recreation & Parks have announced the closure of the Gum Point Road boat ramp on Wednesday, Jun. 17.
Officials say the closure is being implemented to facilitate the loading and unloading of a barge and soil boring equipment into Turville Creek for a County project. The closure is expected to last one day.
If weather conditions prevent the work from being completed on Jun. 17, the boat ramp will instead be closed on Thursday, Jun. 18.
Boaters are encouraged to utilize alternative County boat ramp locations during the closure. A list of County boat ramp locations is available here. For additional information, please contact Public Works Director Dallas Baker at 410-632-5623.
