Delmarva Cat Connection Celebrates 25 Years
SALISBURY, Md. – Local non-profit Delmarva Cat Connection is celebrating a large milestone, 25 years of helping cats find their forever homes.
Long time volunteer Valerie Ward emphasised how much this anniversary means for an agency such as this one.
“Not many organizations and non-profits are able to last 25 years and we’ve been lucky to have some good volunteers that have stuck with it.” Said Ward. “We have new volunteers, but, we need more volunteers.”
These volunteers are credited with the success the group has become known for – placing healthy and social cats into loving homes. This reputation helped them reach the deserving milestone for a group that sees themselves continuing to make a difference 25 more years down the line.
“I hope things slow down.” Ward said. “I hope that we’ve been able to curb some of the feral and outside cat population. When that does [decline], the number of cats that need homes starts to diminish.”
The organization currently has an adoption event at the PetSmart in Salisbury, with a variety of cats and kittens looking for a forever home.
