Chamber Chat: Delmarva Law Enforcement Leadership Forum

SALISBURY, Md. – In this week’s Chamber Chat, WMDT’s John Trout and Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce (SACC) President Bill Chambers discuss SACC’s upcoming Delmarva Law Enforcement Leadership Forum at the Wicomico Civic Center.

Bill says this event is the perfect opportunity for the public to hear directly from law enforcement leaders about the challenges and opportunities facing their agencies today. Eight police chiefs and county sheriffs from Maryland, Delaware, and Virginia will be participating. The discussion will be moderated by Wicomico County State’s Attorney Jaime Dykes, who will help guide the conversation.

“The panel will cover staffing and recruitment challenges, the growing role of technology in modern policing, juvenile crime reforms taking place across the three states, cooperation with federal immigration authorities, and the budget pressures many departments are facing,” Bill says. “These are issues impacting communities throughout Delmarva.”

Bill says most importantly, the forum serves to provide information, encourage dialogue, and give community members a chance to hear from law enforcement firsthand.

This event is open to the public, and will be held on Thursday, Jun. 11 at 11:30 a.m. For tickets and more information, visit SACC’s website here.
