Bridgeville Man Arrested with Stolen Gun, Drugs in Kent Co.
CAMDEN, Del. – The Delaware State Police (DSP) have arrested a Bridgeville man on felony gun and drug charges following a traffic stop in Kent County.
Police have arrested 26-year-old Kurtrell Wynder on charges of possessing a firearm during the commission of a felony, receiving a stolen firearm, possessing a tier two quantity of a controlled substance, and related gun and drug crimes. He was arraigned and committed to the Department of Correction on a $33,601 secured bond.
At 5:00 p.m. on Jun. 16, members of the DSP Kent County Special Investigations Unit were patrolling Berrytown Road near Willow Grove Road when they reportedly observed a Dodge Durango commit a traffic violation. Detectives pulled the Durango over and spoke to the driver, identified as Wynder. During a consent search of the Durango, detectives found the following items:
- Loaded 9mm handgun
- Approximately 3.9 grams of heroin (approximately 130 bags)
- Approximately .02 grams of cocaine
- Drug paraphernalia
Following a computer check, detectives learned that the recovered handgun had previously been reported stolen to the Virginia Beach Police Department.
