Annual Strawberry Festival returns to Pittsville

Salisbury, Md. – The town of Pittsville, which considers itself the “strawberry capital of the world,” is hosting its annual Strawberry Festival this weekend.

Town Manager Joseph Mangini Jr. said the festival has been held for years, well before he became town manager eight years ago, and it’s the biggest event in town. Organizers said this year, aside from the artisans, craftsmen, and about 70 vendors, there will be a bouncy house, food trucks, a car show and live music.

“Topping the whole thing, and something that I’m really happy about is that we will be unveiling our town mascot, Strawberry Sam on that day,” Mangini said. “So we’re hoping that everybody will come out and enjoy themselves because it’s going to be a great event.”

The Strawberry Festival will be on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Pittsville Park on Pearl Street, right across from the town hall. Mangini will be there handling the popcorn machine so be sure to stop by, say hello and get some popcorn!
