Two Kent County Men Arrested Following a Heroin Distribution Investigation
DOVER, Del.- Delaware State Police arrested two Kent County men in connection with a heroin distribution investigation.
Troopers have arrested 63-year-old Gerald Brown of Harrington and 33-year-old Randall Harris of Dover following a narcotics investigation. Both men were charged with Felony Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance, Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance, Felony Second Degree Conspiracy, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Gerald Brown was released on a $14,100 bond. Randall Harris was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $14,100 bond
On May 11th, around 10 p.m. members of the Delaware State Police Special Investigations Unit were conducting a drug investigation near a gas station in the 1600 block of South Dupont Highway in Dover. Troopers observed a Nissan Sentra parked at the business with a man, later identified as Gerald Brown, sitting inside. A rideshare vehicle later arrived and dropped off a passenger, identified as Randall Harris. Harris got in the rear of the vehicle where a suspected drug transaction took place. Investigators then observed Harris enter the gas station carrying a large amount of cash. Troopers then made contact with Harris and Brown, and a search of the vehicle led to the discovery of around 130 bags of suspected heroin bundled together. Troopers were unable to locate the cash Harris had been carrying. Further investigation revealed the rideshare service picked Harris up from a residence on Edgewood Road in Dover.
On May 12th, troopers returned to the gas station. During the search, investigators located the cash hidden inside a box of snacks. Later that day, troopers executed a search warrant at the Edgewood Road residence, recovering 13 additional bags of suspected heroin located near two children’s bedrooms, along with a scale. Randall Harris was additionally charged with Felony Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance, Felony Tampering with Physical Evidence, 2 counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
