Teen Killed in Three-Vehicle Crash on Wet Road in Sussex County

MILLSBORO, Del. — An 18-year-old woman was killed in a three-vehicle crash on a wet roadway in Sussex County, Delaware State Police said Saturday.
The crash happened around 9:10 a.m. Thursday on Hollyville Road near Harmony Cemetery Road in Millsboro, according to investigators. Police said a Ford Taurus traveling northbound lost traction while navigating a curve, spun into the southbound lane and collided with a Hyundai Tucson.
A Jeep Cherokee traveling behind the Hyundai attempted to avoid the collision but also struck the Hyundai, authorities said.
The driver of the Ford, identified as Paishence Young of Millsboro, was not wearing a seatbelt and was taken to a local hospital, where she later died, police said.
The drivers of the Hyundai and Jeep — two Lewes women, ages 45 and 53 — were not injured.
Police said the roadway remained closed for about three hours while investigators processed the scene and cleared the wreckage.
The Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is continuing to investigate the crash.
