WESTOVER, Md. — The Somerset County Health Department will host its annual spring drive-thru rabies vaccination clinic later this month, offering low-cost protection for pets.

The clinic is scheduled for Tuesday, May 12, 2026, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at a site on Sign Post Road in Westover. Officials say the event is designed to provide a quick and convenient option for pet owners to ensure their animals are up to date on rabies vaccinations.

Vaccinations will cost $8 per pet, and organizers note that the clinic will be cash only.

Pet owners seeking a three-year rabies vaccination for their animals must bring proof of a previous rabies shot. Without documentation, vaccinations administered at the clinic will be valid for one year.

Pre-registration is encouraged to help streamline the process. Residents can call 443-523-1700 for more information or to register in advance.

Health officials emphasize that keeping pets vaccinated against rabies is critical for both animal and public safety, particularly as warmer weather brings increased outdoor activity.
