SALISBURY, Md. — Runners and walkers gathered at Salisbury City Park Saturday morning for the Salisbury Paramedic Foundation’s 5K Fun Run & Walk, an event aimed at raising money for emergency medical resources and community programs across Wicomico County.

The event began at 9 a.m. and brought community members together for a morning of fitness and fundraising along the park’s scenic trails. Proceeds from the race will support the Salisbury Paramedic Foundation’s efforts to purchase automated external defibrillators, also known as AEDs, for placement throughout the county, along with funding scholarships for paramedic training and other community initiatives.

Organizers say the event was designed not only to raise money, but also to bring awareness to the importance of emergency preparedness and access to lifesaving equipment in public spaces.

The Salisbury Paramedic Foundation, established in 2023, works to support local EMS providers and improve emergency medical care resources in the region.
