Owner of Stevensville Cheer Academy Arrested for Sexual Abuse of 9-Year-Old
STEVENSVILLE, Md. – The Maryland State Police have arrested an Annapolis man in connection with sexually abusing a minor in Queen Anne’s County.
Police say 52-year-old Dustin Moss Burket is charged with second-degree rape, abuse of a minor, fourth degree sexual offense, and second-degree assault. Burket was taken into custody on Wednesday, May 20, without incident and is currently being held at the Queen Anne’s County Detention Center without bond. His arrest follows an indictment from a Grand Jury convened by the Office of the State’s Attorney in Queen Anne’s County.
Authorities say they initially launched an investigation into Burket on Apr. 3. Burket is alleged to have had inappropriate sexual contact a 9-year-old female victim during last summer and this spring. The incident is believed to have occurred on the property of the Eastern Shore Cheer Academy in Stevensville under the supervision of Burket. Burket is the owner and operator of the Eastern Shore Cheer Academy.
