One Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash Near Millsboro

MILLSBORO, Del. — One person was injured Saturday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Phillips Branch Road and Indian Mission Road near Millsboro, emergency officials said.

The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company responded to the crash around 1:18 p.m. along with the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad and Delaware State Fire Police.

Fire officials said the collision involved a white Nissan Pathfinder and a white Toyota Camry. The crash caused significant damage to both vehicles and knocked down roadway signage at the intersection.

Emergency crews worked to stabilize patients, secure the vehicles, control traffic and clear debris and fluids from the roadway. DELDOT Traffic Management was notified about the damaged traffic signage, officials said.

One person was transported to a nearby medical facility for further evaluation and observation.

Units responding from Indian River included Rescue 80, Squad 80 and Utility 80.

The Delaware State Fire Police managed traffic control throughout the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
