One Critically Injured after Dover Stabbing; Felton Man in Custody
DOVER, Del. – The Delaware State Police arrested a Felton man following a stabbing incident that occurred late Sunday night at a Dover bar.
Police have arrested 44-year-old Charles Murray on charges on first degree assault, possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, and carrying a concealed deadly weapon. He was arraigned and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $102,000 cash bond.
At 11:20 p.m. on May 3, troopers responded to Touchdown Lounge for a report of a stabbing. When troopers arrived, they learned that a male victim had been stabbed by a male suspect, identified as Murray, and both were taken to an area hospital. Detectives responded to the hospital and learned the victim suffered critical injuries while Murray was not injured.
A preliminary investigation revealed that Murray accused the victim and the bartender of stealing his debit card before punching the victim inside the bar. After leaving the bar, the victim told his friend, who was seated in the driver’s seat of their vehicle, what had occurred with Murray. As they were speaking, Murray approached the driver’s side door. The friend exited the vehicle and engaged in a physical altercation with Murray. When the victim moved toward the two, police say Murray stabbed the victim multiple times.
