Local businesses prepare for Mother’s day

Worcester and Wicomico County, Md. – Local businesses encourage families to shop locally for Mother’s Day instead of picking the big brand competitor.

With Mother’s Day coming up soon, many families are searching for personal and meaningful gifts for their mothers. Whether it is flowers or jewelry, many local brands are hoping to attract attention over the bigger chains.

Store owners say that it’s the personal touch provided by the staff that brings so much value and satisfaction to customers.

“You know who you’re talking to in ours, we know the voice on the phone,” Sonya Trader of Sonya’s Floral Boutique in Salisbury said.

Other business owners explained how the products were made on location, offering unique furnishings that are not reproduced in mass quantities.

WMDT spoke with:

  • Sonya’s Floral Boutique in Salisbury, offers a variety of fresh flowers and beautiful arrangements
  • How sweet it is in Eden maintains a wide display of flowers and vegetable plants for gardening
  • Beach Memories showcases beautiful and intricate glasswork and jewelry.

All businesses listed are local and excited for uptick in customers.
