City to Close Portion of Riverside Road for Water System Repairs

SALISBURY, Md. — The City of Salisbury announced that a portion of Riverside Road will be closed beginning Sunday as crews install a 12-inch insertion valve as part of ongoing water distribution system improvements.

According to the city’s Department of Waterworks Utilities Division, work is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. Sunday and continue through Monday, May 18, ending around 3:30 p.m., weather and conditions permitting.

During the project, Riverside Road will be closed to through traffic between Riverside Drive and Monticello Avenue.

City officials said the work is part of continued efforts to improve, repair and maintain Salisbury’s water distribution infrastructure. Utility locators and Central Alarm have been notified ahead of the project.

Officials are asking motorists to plan alternate routes and thanked residents for their patience during the repairs.
