Cambridge Branch of Dorchester Library to Receive Facelift

(CAMBRIDGE, Md) – The Cambridge branch of the Dorchester County library is getting some much needed renovations.

Thanks to a state grant, the 50 year old building is getting a new paint job for the windows and repairs to several windows that have cracked over time.

Director, Crystal Hennigsen says they plan to restore the flooring inside the building later this year that’s suffered from water damage.

She says her goal is for the library to be a place for everyone in the Cambridge community.

Crystal tells WMDT, “We need a safe space for people to be. And that’s one of the things we pride ourselves on, is being a safe space for the entire community. We want everyone to feel welcome, and having a welcoming, safe environment is key to that.”

Work on the first phase of the renovations will begin in mid-June.
