2026 DE School Board Elections

Salisbury, Md. – This year’s elections took place in certain districts across all three counties in Delaware.

School board members can make decisions that directly impact students, their families and voting rights. Advocates told WMDT that local elections like these can make a big impact on education and the local community, even for those who do not have children within the school system.

“School boards generally decide things like funding, school safety, transportation, mental health resources, teacher support, student success and after school opportunities,” YWCA DE Director of Community Engagement Becca Cotto said. “Those are just some of the things that school boards decide, which is what makes school board elections so essential.”

Polls closed at 8 p.m. on Tuesday. Unofficial election results can be found here.
