Weather Tidbits: Apartment Tornado Safety

We will be discussing apartment tornado safety in this edition of Weather Tidbits. If you live in a tall apartment complex or in a lot of other different buildings, and you are under a tornado warning, these are the precautions that you want to take. You want to go to the lowest floor. Perhaps in a bathroom, laundry room, or garage. Those are the best. Basically, an interior room away from windows in the center of the building. Move inward and put as many walls between you and the outside as possible. And protect your head, perhaps with a blanket or pillow. Though a helmet is most recommended to shield yourself from potential debris and head force trauma if a tornado becomes damaging enough. These precautions will help keep you safe from a tornado if you live in a tall apartment complex.
