UPDATE: Laurel police investigating shooting that left one injured

UPDATE: The Laurel Police Department has provided new details regarding Wednesday night’s shooting that injured one.

At 7:53 p.m. on Apr. 1, officers responded to the 200 building of the Little Creek Apartment Complex for a shots fired complaint. Upon arrival, officers encountered a large, uncooperative crowd of approximately 300 individuals in the parking lot.

Officers located a single victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim, identified as an adult black male, was transported by EMS to Tidal Health Nanticoke for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. At this time, he is reported to be in stable condition.

At this time, investigators are actively working to gather information related to the incident, including developing suspect information. This remains an active and ongoing investigation. LAUREL, Del. – One person was shot Wednesday night in Laurel.

The Laurel Police Department is investigating the shooting in the area of the 200 building of Little Creek Apartments.

Police say when they arrived on scene, officers located a single victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim is receiving medical attention.

The Laurel Police Department says the public should avoid the area to allow emergency personnel to work safely and efficiently. There is currently a large police presence.
