Sudlersville Man arrested after vehicle crashes through property

SUDLERSVILLE, Md. — Janeir Dupree, 31, of Sudlersville, Maryland, was arrested March 29 after deputies said he drove a vehicle off Route 313, colliding with multiple properties and a children’s playset.

Deputies from the Queen Anne’s County Office of the Sheriff were dispatched after reports of a stationary vehicle in the southbound lane of Route 313. Deputy First Class R. Johnson located the vehicle and activated his emergency equipment. Authorities said Dupree then drove off the roadway through a ditch onto a property on Millington Road, striking a wooden fence, a front yard, a children’s playset, and a second fence before the vehicle came to rest in a drainage ditch.

Deputies removed Dupree without incident and noted a strong odor of alcohol. Dupree refused field sobriety tests and was found to have an active warrant for his arrest. A search of the vehicle uncovered an alcoholic beverage.

Dupree was charged with malicious destruction of property, DUI, DWI, reckless and negligent driving, multiple traffic violations, and driving on a suspended out-of-state license, among other offenses.
