Speed Limit to Lower Temporarily on US 50 in Hebron for Road Work
HEBRON, Md. – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration has announced the posted speed limit on US 50 (Ocean Gateway) at the Old Railroad Road intersection work zone in Hebron will reduce from 55 miles per hour (mph) to 45 mph starting Thursday, Apr. 16.
The speed limit will be returned to 55 mph when the project is completed. Officials say the temporary speed reduction is needed to enhance work zone safety for the 1.68-mile section of roadway while intersection safety improvements are underway in the area. Regulatory signs that display the new speed limit will be installed to alert motorists for the duration of the project.
Pedestrians and motorists are urged to remain alert and avoid distractions when traveling through the work zone.
