Somerset County’s First Dispensary Opens

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. — Somerset County’s first dispensary, Happi Daze, celebrated its grand opening Wednesday.

Medical and recreational patients lined up outside at as early as 9 a.m. The dispensary is located just off Route 13, where Peaky’s Restaurant used to be.

General Manager Chris Weimer said their mission is to serve friendly customer service in a welcoming, easy-going environment — all while keeping up a retro 1950s diner vibe.

“We are all about making sure the customers come in and feel at ease when they get here. We want them to feel at home. We want them to be our friends; we want to make sure they get the utmost customer service and have a good time,” Weimer said.

After hitting multiple roadblocks along the way, Happi Daze’s owners are happy to be open and serving the community.

Medical patients will no longer have to travel to purchase medicinal marijuana — used to treat a variety of conditions like chronic pain, PTSD, and chemotherapy symptoms. Recreational users now have a safe, reliable place to purchase quality products.

“I’m very excited because I usually have to travel to Salisbury or Ocean City to buy anything. It’s like 25 minutes to Salisbury and 40 minutes to Ocean City. I live right here in town, so this place [Happi Daze] is 5 minutes away,” customer Craig Lebarron said.

Customers can shop with specialists and budtenders or order on rapid pickup kiosks. Happi Daze is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
