Salisbury Police Department is reminding folks to not park in fire lanes
SALISBURY, Md. — The Salisbury Police Department is reminding people not to park in fire lanes.
The department said it has received an increase in complaints from local businesses about fire lanes being blocked. Captain Ryan Koerner emphasized that parking in these areas can hinder first responders’ ability to act quickly and efficiently in emergencies.
“We have been receiving some complaints about people parking in fire lanes when they shouldn’t be. Really, the only people who should be parking in these spots are first responders,” Koerner said. “The whole purpose of fire lanes is to ensure that first responders can get inside businesses during an emergency.”
SPD added that it is a matter of public safety, urging people to avoid parking in fire lanes so first responders can do their job in the event of an emergency.
