UPDATE: Victim Identified in Fatal Single-Vehicle Crash in Lewes

UPDATE: The Delaware State Police have identified 26-year-old Anthony Hunt of Lewes as the man who died in a single-vehicle crash on Sunday.

The investigation into this crash remains ongoing.

 

LEWES, Del. — Delaware State Police are investigating a single-vehicle crash that left one person dead early Sunday in Lewes.

The crash occurred around 12:20 a.m. on April 26, 2026, when a Dodge Ram was traveling in the Lewes area, according to police. For reasons still under investigation, the vehicle left the roadway and crashed.

The driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not yet released the victim’s identity, pending notification of family members.

The roadway was closed for several hours as troopers investigated and cleared the scene.

The crash remains under investigation by the Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit. Anyone who witnessed the incident or has information is asked to contact police or provide tips through Delaware Crime Stoppers.
