Hebron Savings Bank Launches New Scholarship for Eastern Shore Students
EASTERN SHORE, Md. – Hebron Savings Bank (HSB) has announced the launch of their new Emerging Leaders Scholarship, an initiative designed to support graduating high school seniors from Maryland’s Eastern Shore.
The scholarship will be awarded to students who demonstrate leadership, community involvement, and an interest in pursuing careers in business, finance, or related fields. Beginning this year, HSB will award two scholarships annually to graduating high school seniors in Wicomico, Worcester, Somerset, and Dorchester counties. Each recipient will receive $4,000 in scholarship support, distributed as $1,000 per year, to assist with college tuition expenses. In addition to financial assistance, scholarship recipients will be offered paid summer internship opportunities at HSB following their freshman, sophomore, and junior years of college.
“This scholarship reflects our deep commitment to the communities we serve,” said Jennifer A. Poulsen, Chief Executive Officer and President of HSB. “By supporting local students in their pursuit of higher education and providing real-world professional experience, we are investing in the next generation of leaders who will help shape the future of Maryland’s Eastern Shore.”
Two new recipients will be selected each year, allowing the scholarship to support multiple students simultaneously as the program grows. The bank says the scholarship was created to reinforce the organization’s shared commitment to education, workforce development, and community advancement.
Eligible applicants must plan to enroll full-time at an accredited college or university. Applications will open April 6, with a submission deadline of May 15. Scholarship recipients will be notified in June.
