FELTON, Del. – The Felton Police Department has charged an Ellendale man in connection with a felony fraud investigation that began in February.

On Apr. 9, police arrested 25-year-old Tyreek Anthony Stevens on charges of theft greater than $1,500 and second degree forgery. He was arraigned and released on $3,000 unsecured bond pending a future court date.

On the afternoon of Feb. 9, officers were contacted by Town of Felton employees regarding a theft reported from Dec. 2025. Their investigation revealed that the Town had mailed a check to a business for services rendered. However, the business later reported that it had not received payment. Further investigation determined the check had been stolen, altered to appear as though it was legitimately issued to the suspect, later identified as Stevens, and subsequently cashed. Officers say they were able to positively identify Stevens after obtaining surveillance footage of him cashing the check.
