Easton Police Arrest Man in Connection with Aug. 2025 Road Rage Assault
EASTON, Md. – The Easton Police Department (EPD) in connection with a an assault that occurred in Aug. 2025.
The department, with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Capital Regional Fugitive Task Force, arrested 44-year-old James D. Shacochis Jr. of Federalsburg on Tuesday, Mar. 31. He is charged with robbery, second degree assault, malicious destruction of property, and theft between $100 and $1,500. Shacochis was committed to the Talbot County Detention Center on a $20,000 unsecured personal bond. Court documents obtained by WMDT show that he has since posted bond.
At 10:42 a.m. on Aug. 29, 2025, EPD officers responded to 8600 block of Commerce Drive, in reference to an assault. Officers met with a 67-year-old victim who reported that a driver of a black truck displaying a company logo, stopped in front of him in the middle of the road and exited his truck. The suspect, later identified as Shacochis, walked over to the victim’s car and started to yell at him. The victim began to record the interaction on his phone when Shacochis pulled the victim out of his vehicle and punched him in the face, before kicking him on the ribs and ankle. Police say injuries were observed on the victim that were consistent with an assault.
Shacochis proceeded to take the victim’s phone and stomp on it, damaging and taking it with him. An arrest warrant for Shacochis was issued on Nov. 26, 2025.
