City of Cambridge Cracks Down on Unsanctioned Events

City Of Cambridge Grants

CAMBRIDGE, Md. – The City of Cambridge is reminding residents that large gatherings must by approved by the Commissioners of Cambridge before taking place.

The City says they were recently made aware of an unsanctioned pop-up event scheduled for the afternoon of Friday, Apr. 10, in the area of Cosby Avenue. The Cambridge Police Department (CPD) will continue to attempt contact with the organizer, but the City would like to remind residents that large, unsanctioned gatherings are serious public safety concerns. Over the next 36 hours, residents in the area may experience a change in traffic pattern as well as enforcement of No Parking zones.

Parents and guardians are urged to speak with young people in our city and remind them that loitering, trespassing, possession of open alcoholic beverages, littering and unreasonable noise levels are all violations of city code.

Anyone with information about current or upcoming unsanctioned, neighborhood events are encouraged to contact City Manager Glenn Steckman or CPD. Tips can be made anonymously.

If you would like to register for a special event, you can do so here.
