Accidental heat lamp fire displaces six people

Sudlersville, Md. – A heat lamp used to warm baby chicks caused an accidental house fire in Sudlersville Saturday morning.

It happened just before 11 a.m. on North Church Street.

Members of the Sudlersville Volunteer Fire Company were able to bring the fire under control within 15 minutes because the house is located directly across from the fire department.

Six people were displaced as a result of the fire, but no injuries were reported.

The total estimated loss to the structure was $75,000 and $25,000 in estimated damages to the content inside.
