Wicomico Deputy Injured in Motorcycle Accident

HEBRON, Md. – A deputy with the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) was injured in a collision with a motorcycle that occurred Tuesday afternoon.

On Mar. 10 at 1:14 p.m., a deputy was on routine patrol when he was involved in a single vehicle motorcycle collision on Ocean Gateway near Old Railroad Road. The WCSO Collision Reconstruction Unit responded to investigate the collision, with assistance by the Maryland State Police Crash Team.

Following the collision, both sides of Ocean Gateway were closed temporarily to allow the Delaware State Police Aviation Unit to airlift the injured deputy to Shock Trauma for non-life-threatening injuries.

An investigation into this incident is active at this time.
