UPDATE: Man Arrested for Four Dover Burglaries Commits Fifth After being Released

UPDATE: The Dover Police Department has rearrested a man for burglary after releasing him from custody last week.

On Saturday, Mar. 28, police arrested 41-year-old Lamar Trower of Dover on charges of third degree burglary, attempted theft, and criminal mischief. He has since been released on a $3,750 unsecured bond. 

At 4:28 a.m., officers responded to The Little Grocer on East Division Street and discovered that the front door to the business was damaged as the result of forced entry. Surveillance footage showed the suspect, later identified as Trower, entering the business and checking the counter and cash register. After finding nothing, Trower exited the business and fled in a silver Nissan Altima.

A warrant was obtained for his arrest and he was arrested on Saturday afternoon by patrol officers without incident.

 

DOVER, Del. – The Dover Police Department (DPD) Patrol Division has arrested a suspect connected to four commercial burglaries that occurred over a two day period.

On Monday afternoon, police arrested 41-year-old Lamar Trower of Dover after conducting a traffic stop on his vehicle. He is charged with three counts of third degree burglary, two counts of theft greater than $1,500, and related charges. Trower was later released on a $3,000 unsecured bond. 

Between Mar. 21 and Mar. 22, DPD officers responded to burglaries at the following locations:

  • Pizza Time (1255 South State Street), Mar. 21 at 4:15 a.m.
  • Lana Nails (155 North DuPont Highway), Mar. 22 at 1:22 a.m.
  • Restaurante El Gallito (1030 South Little Creek Road), Mar. 22 at 1:45 a.m.
  • Off The Top Barber (1032 South Little Creek Road), Mar. 22 at 1:45 a.m.

The investigation into these incidents indicated a silver Nissan Altima with Delaware temporary tags was a suspect vehicle. Patrol officers located the suspect vehicle in the area of Walker Road and North State Street and proceeded to conduct the traffic stop that led to Trower’s arrest. He was taken into custody without incident.
