Three-Vehicle Crash Slows Traffic Near Sherwood Forest in Millsboro
MILLSBORO, Del. — Emergency crews responded to a three-vehicle crash Friday afternoon along John J. Williams Highway near the entrance to Sherwood Forest South, authorities said.
The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched around 4:30 p.m. Feb. 27 to the intersection of John J. Williams Highway and Tucks Road. The Mid Sussex Rescue Squad also responded amid reports that one person might need to be transported to a nearby hospital.
Fire crews from the Long Neck and Oak Orchard areas worked to stabilize the vehicles, assist the patient and clear fluid and debris from the roadway. Traffic control was coordinated by the Delaware State Fire Police as westbound traffic was impacted during the response.
Authorities said a maroon Ford Taurus struck the rear of a Honda CR-V, which then collided with another vehicle, sustaining both front- and rear-end damage.
The Delaware State Police are investigating the cause of the crash. Further information about injuries was not immediately available.
