CHESTER, Md. – Two teens have been charged for firearm possession and theft after a parent tipped off police.

Earlier in March, deputies with the Queen Anne’s County Office of the Sheriff responded to a home in Chester for a reported theft.

The parent said she had learned from her adult son that her teenage son and his teenage friend stole the unloaded firearm from an unlocked vehicle the night prior.

The parent then confiscated and secured the firearm, then called police.

Both boys received juvenile referrals to the Maryland Department of Juvenile Services for charges of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Minor, Rogue and Vagabond and Theft $100 to under $1,500.
