GEORGETOWN, Del. – Sussex Tech Ravens hosting the Smyrna Eagles in a big game. Both teams looking to start the year strong.

They both made deep runs to the playoffs and state championship last season. Early in the 2nd inning, Kaitlyn Slaney gets a huge hit,
and it goes over the head of the Ravens outfielder, who couldn’t make the catch. The Eagles get on the board early.

Later, Gabriella Gianacoplis and the Ravens answer with this blooper that turns into a double, it brings home a run, and the Sussex Tech finds themselves up 3 to 1 in the early stages of this matchup.

The Ravens defense would be the difference, Cierra Lewis was dueling today, striking out batters left and right.

And a crazy play, the Eagles put the ball in play, as Paige Krepps can’t make the catch, but she still tips it up and Journey Hearne finishes the deal.

In the end, the Ravens too much, they put 4 runs in the bottom of the 6th inning. One of those RBI’s was from Paige Krepps, who hit the liner on the foul ball line and sneaked it past the defenders, and the Ravens pull away in this one 7 to 1.
