St. Michaels Man Arrested on Drug, Credit Card Fraud Charges
ST. MICHAELS, Md. – The Talbot County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) has charged a person in connection with felony theft, unauthorized use of a credit card, and drug charges.
On Mar. 17, troopers served an arrest warrant to 28-year-old Malik I. Wilson of St. Michaels on numerous criminal counts, including charges related to felony theft and the unauthorized use of a credit card. A search and seizure warrant was also served at Wilson’s residence, in which officers located a victim’s stolen credit card, 3.5 ounces of cocaine along, and drug paraphernalia. He was subsequently charged with various drug related crimes including possessing cocaine with the intent to distribute.
Wilson had an initial appearance before a District Court Commissioner and was released on a $5,000 unsecured bond for the theft and unauthorized use of a credit card, but was initially held without bond for the controlled dangerous substance (CDS) charges. Wilson had a bond review before a District Court judge the following day and was released on a $10,000 unsecured personal bond for the CDS charges.
In Nov. 2025, TCSO deputies with the Patrol Division were contacted by a family member of a victim who stated they noticed numerous fraudulent purchases on the victim’s credit card dating back to Sept. 2025. The victim, who had been diagnosed with terminal brain cancer, had employed Wilson as a caretaker though a local home care company. Through an investigation, detectives were able to link Wilson to over $6,500 in unauthorized purchases to various businesses.
