SNOW HILL, Md. – 301 Willow Street could be getting some new upgrades to the abandoned property in Snow Hill.

The property dates back to the early 1920s, and a Snow Hill resident, Preston Reed, has submitted an offer to purchase the property, and wants to renovate the building into three apartments, so there’s more affordable housing in the area.

He has a record of restoring historic homes in the area, and believes the property on Willow Street can continue to be an asset to the community.

“Only that adding more people to town has a multiplier effect on the economy, so I think it’s definitely good for the town to get three more apartments rented with more people living here, which means more people spending in the town and more sales tax.”

Reed says this is a unique property, it was originally built as African American Tenement housing, which he says is history he would like to preserve.
