One Killed after Fatal E-Bike Crash in Dover; DSP Investigating

DOVER, Del. – The Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal E-Bike crash that occurred on Monday afternoon in Dover.

At 1:45 p.m. on Mar. 2, a Chevrolet Cobalt was traveling in the left lane on DuPont Highway (US 13), north of POW/MIA Parkway. At the same time, an Aniioki AQ-177 E-Bike entered the edge of the right lane of DuPont Highway from an unknown location. The preliminary investigation revealed that the E-Bike changed lanes and entered the Cobalt’s path of travel. The Cobalt subsequently struck the E-Bike, ejecting the operator.

The operator of the E-Bike, identified as 26-year-old Jordan Schollenberger of Camden, was taken to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries. On Tuesday, Mar. 3, he died from his injuries.

The driver of the Cobalt, a 19-year-old-woman from Harrington, Delaware, was not injured.
