Man Arrested for Second Degree Rape in Millsboro

MILLSBORO, Del. – The Millsboro Police Department (MPD) has arrested a man in connection with a sexual assault that occurred in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Police have arrested 63-year-old Anthony Wade on one count of second degree rape. He was committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $60,000 secured bail.

Around midnight on Mar. 25, officers responded to the 300 block of Old Landing Road for a report of sexual assault. Officers made contact with the victim, who reported that they had just been assaulted at the location. Police say they were able to quickly secure the scene and collect critical evidence due to the immediacy of the report.

Police conducted a preliminary investigation and determined that Wade was the primary suspect. Wade, who was on probation at the time of the assault, was taken into custody without incident.
